The Medal of the American Liszt Society

The American Liszt Society Board of Directors is proud to announce the great Russian pianist Evgeny Kissin as the 2016 recipient of The Medal of the American Liszt Society. Maestro Kissin has served as the ambassador of Franz Liszt in his inimitable performances throughout the years, including his all-Liszt recital program during the 2011 bicentennial Liszt celebratory season. The Medal of the American Liszt Society, conferred on the recipient by The American Liszt Society Board of Directors, is awarded to outstanding artists and scholars whose work and careers have made significant contributions to performance and scholarship on behalf of the life and work of Franz Liszt. Notable past ALS Medal recipients include: conductors Daniel Barenboim and James Conlon, pianists Claudio Arrau, Jorge Bolet, and Alfred Brendel, and musicologist and historian Alan Walker.
