The Medal of the American Liszt Society, conferred on the recipient by The American Liszt Society Board of Directors, is awarded to outstanding artists and scholars whose work and careers have made significant contributions to performance and scholarship on behalf of the life and work of Franz Liszt. Notable past ALS Medal recipients include: conductors Daniel Barenboim and James Conlon, pianists Claudio Arrau, Jorge Bolet, and Alfred Brendel, and musicologist and historian Alan Walker.
